Christians are a strange bunch. They go to rallies and wave banners that say "God hates fags" or something against doctors who give abortions. Some of them believe that HIV/AIDS is God's way of getting back.

What happened to "turn the other cheek" or "love your brother?" What would Jesus say about this?

Note: not all Christians are extremist like this, in fact most aren't. But those who are sure give it a bad name. And yes it may seem I am bashing religion lately but I bash all things for fun, religion just happens to be my current pet topic.

Why? Because not to question established dogmas is to be a mental prisoner. Question everything. The last of the free will be the one who attacks the establishment of his time, whether it be church or state.

Stile those people aren't Christians no matter how many times they might tell themselves and everyone else they are.

A Christian is a person who turns the other cheek, accepts everyone and loves even when it's damn hard to do so.

A Christian is someone who doesn't pass judgement even if they have to struggle at it.

God Loves Fags, unconditionally, because He is Love unconditional He loves everyone even people we find it hard to love ourselves (Like the God Hates Fags crowd).

A real Christian seeks to understand all sides of a conflict instead of abusing religion for political purposes like many people on both sides have for the Abortion fight.

Legalized abortion saves as many lives as it destroys and in a free society all people should have the ability to make what ever choice they see as right even if we don't agree with it if you don't like abortions don't have one (I consider myself a Christian and that's my opinion I'm not perfect at what I've said above maybe not even good at it but life is about the struggle.)

Good answer Chris. I should add that my new case manager is Christian, and he is a really great guy. He has this way of projecting positivity - it is kind of catchy. I am the opposite - I project negativity. He thinks I am waging a spiritual battle right now. I know I am waging war with myself, but I don't know if it's spiritual because I don't have the foggiest idea how to connect with a spiritual side (in fact I doubt that it even exists but that is just the skeptic in me).

so true guys.., so true.. it is sad that ppl have blurred the lines to such an extent, where they think they do whats 'right' etc, when theyre actually doing it all wrong..
theres this one song,, it says:
peace love, more tolerance
faith hope trust in the same God in whose name we die for,
take an innocent life for,
that's not what He means,
and it doesnt matter which book you read.

thats my take on true christianity,, mind you i hate labels anyway, and think it should just be morality, humanity, not the name of a certain religion, or certain sect. (whats up with all these christian denominations fighting with each other about which one is the right one, wth?!)

whats truly right, is truly right, even when humans get it wrong sometimes, at least there is still ppl like you, stile, who will continue to fight against atrocities, no matter what name it uses to fight (hide) behind...
on the matter of actual belief in God, its a difficult path for one to find when you are sceptical about everything,(like i was too!) because the true religion- i believe- is pure faith. and my faith came to me through many trials and tribulations indeed! i had little 'coincidences' happen to me to 'prove' to me that God does indeed exist. at some point, you will come to your own conclusion, and relationship with whichever name you choose for the creator. i cant argue symmantics with you, im afraid im not very good at that, lol! the bible was written by men, and as such, does not offer enough 'proof' for any sceptic. there are many parts in the bible that i do not agree with as well!
its a case of finding the needle (truth) in the haystack (all religions) and i believe that every religion has valid points and grains of the truth.

a good man is not one that is necessarily ruled only by his religion, but more so by his morality.

well, it all depends on what kind of proof you are waiting for though...if youre waiting for the actual revelations to come to pass before you can commit then its gonna be a while!

i think you can find the miracles God made by simply looking around...

back to the answer of the topic headline, NO he doesnt, He made them all.

personally, i was IN the situation where i had to consider abortion.
its a personal choice, i couldnt do it, i knew i would not be able to live with myself,, but that doesnt mean i can condemn a woman for having to make that choice..sometimes, there is no choice. its a matter of circumstances that dictate the 'right' option.

good topic though!

I could never abort either Shades of Nadia.
As far as same sex partners go, more power to them.
The Religios Right, make me sick, in that, they show up at Funerals, spreading hate, among people in grief.
SO sick.
Ther was a young man, 19 I beleive, who was beheaded on a bus, in Winnepeg, by, an un medicated man.
The boy, was going HOME to his family, when his life was cut short, while he slept.
The Religious Right, wanted to protest at his Funeral, stating he was an immoral man for working at a Carnival,
and the person that took his life, was a hero.

How bad is that?

Any group Religious, group, that is on the fringe and fanatical is whacked.

The abortion thing, I was once put in a spot to drive a co-worker to one, I tried all the way to the clinic to talk her out of it.
I was watched like a hawk at the clinic, as I gave off, I HATE this place vibes.
I am not at all happpy about being involved in that fiasco.

Muslim radicals shoot people and Christian radicals yell and scream.

Isn't the answer to this obvious? Educate them. Teach them right from wrong.

Don't lay their ignorance at the doorstep of Christianity and demand answers. The landscape of an idiots mind is not formated in any particular fashion.

I warn you. Stupid people... they are all around us! They choose to hate you because you are different and they don't like it. I guess.. maybe.

All sins are equal in the sight of God...taken from the Bible.
Perfect Christians get crucified.
God is love.
I hated homosexuality.
I now have a homosexual couple in my extended family and I am glad they found love.
God sent me knowledge through the wisdom of an English gentleman.
I have now after many years found out my doctor is gay.
He has saved my life on numerous occassions.

I think your pushing buttons stile....and thats fun as long as it does'nt upset any one.

Happy new year.

It sounds like the same Christian protesters who stood outside Marilyn Manson’s concerts with picket signs saying he was the antichrist.

I think education is extremely limited. Most people simply believe what makes them feel safe.

I think the best way to teach someone out of bigotry is to be an example that flies in the face of what they were taught, although this could be considered a form of education.

I think some people are just dense and it would be like trying to teach a duck to play a guitar to change their minds or get them to see something from another person's perspective, point of view-it's like they can't see it-just what they know, what they've been taught and accept without question like those christian fanatics.

One day a long long time ago some guy saw a duck swimming in the water and it occured to him that maybe it was a good idea to come up with a contraption to decide whether or not a person was a witch was evil and he'll call it "ducking"-the way he saw the ducks head going in and out of the water was like a message from god-people figured if the person wouldn't die they we're a witch if they did than they made a mistake and the person they drowneed was in a better place.

There's people in this world who think if they strap a bomb to themselves and blow themself and some people up they'll be rewarded for it in the next life in paradiseland with 70 virgins-don't any of them question that and think maybe it sounds a little far fetched.
