I write for you Peter,
who took your life,
You could not live among sorrow and strife.
The Ignorance of Others, the hate barely concealed.
You lived your life in anguish,
You felt you must conceal.
You were gay, queer, what ever awful name they call it.
You were different, and SO WHAT?
You hurt no one, Your heart was large, and often hurt.
By fearful folk,
I promise you this, I WILL defend you in death.
I failed you in life,
I did not hear your pain, I was so selfish.
No one knew how down you were.
Until today.
When your broken body was carried away.
The man at the store, has lost my respect,
He is RELIGIOUS, RELIGIOUS, and made a pucnch to his fist gesture
regarding 'gay' folk.
Well flip him, ignorant fool.
It became crystal clear to me , in that instant of fist punching palm.
with glee, of how much you suffered.
In a small way I am relieved that you don't have to live among the haters.
I will make sure Max, is taken care of, Our Dog,
He sat by your side loyal to the end.
I will miss you Peter.
Damn the Religious Right. Hypocrites, Ignorant,
fearful of their own sexuality, some.
Only God can see the beauty and pain in your heart.
Rest in Peace, my friend.
