I can endorse this 'self help' 2CD recording of classical music (and other stuff) by British TV celebrity Doctor Hillary Jones.

Another great classical recording like is Sting and Eden Karmanazanov's recording of John Dowland's lute music from the renaissance.

I also have a classical compilation I love called 'Baroque Adagios.' J.S. Bach features quite heavily in it.
