hello
I love the subject, but I'd like to hear from some of your accomplished hams and emergency workers about communications for crisis situations and how people could build the radio from what's right around the more receiver, you know, survival training, and probably some old videos from like World War II war people build simple crystal radios when they were prisoners of war at a basically nothing
.
I do want to say to something before I leave this to the professionals and experienced people

There's two programs that I'm aware of that you can find out about at w at the American radio relay league or your local organization for ham radio or amateur radio is it called.

For American citizens. I was reading in a magazine published by the American radio relay league, otherwise known as a R R L for short
and there was an article in the magazine about how the American federal emergency management agency, otherwise known as FEMA was once had a programmer something. My memory's not great, that was seeking to get hams in every neighborhood who could teach their neighbors
communication skills and disaster preparedness in this program, you'd be helping your family or friends in your neighbors on your street on your block ideas. I will look you up and try to find out more information on it

.In America the American radio relay league. I was reading a magazine
because I'm a new member very new. Basically, I don't know anything about radio, but I will I want to learn, but I will know a little bit more about radio than no nothing, but not much. And there is a program or and I believe it's called arres
that might stand for the American radio relay emergency services. I'm not sure how you know him. Not sure someone will have to correct me on that. But it's a good it's a very nice organization you know of. They have lots of stuff on the Internet to to to look at and that they sent me when I joined a sent me up first, a prospect package's to see if I wanted to join, which included some you know, leaflets and other information which is very informative and then when I joined, they sent me the license manual for all you know, entry-level level technician license study manual and CD will came with it. It and not, you know, there was I invoke it will go over yet but the gist of it is the is a lot of useful information on it, and of and you can practice the good the test in advance with the use of the CD they can do comes with the manual and I get me some other goodies anyhow, while it's a great organization and a great place to learn about amateur radio service or or ham radio

In the US in your country. There's probably another organization that you know an agency or what have you that handles that is worth Delete entry
checking out.

But you can get regular CB radio 40 channels simple antenna mag mount or stand away and you can talk all over the world. If the conditions are right and in an emergency situation, you can get what needs me and sad said, get information in intelligence and communicate with people in your community and on your street and you don't need a license for the own there that radio to to use it. There's rules, but you know. And though the one done. There is what they call 10 codes that people learn so that in an emergency. People have a basic structure so that they can help each other out and am anyhow, check out CB radio. If you haven't recently because it's come a long way since the days of the Smokey and the bandit and you can do that for basically nothing. A lot of times you can get finds older CB radios at ham fests or on you know in the paper tag sales, eBay am estate sales of goodwill and your swap meets and you can pick him up for 5 to 10 dollars brand-new in the box. Of course, there used, and they don't take a lot of up a lot of room. Of course, some are bigger the others, but it you can fit with an emergency CB radio with antenna
in a shoebox and today they're even smaller. You can do the same thing with proper with a ham radio. I think with the technician's license in the US. There's these little rum handheld route ham radios that you know that you can get for 50 dollars I believe. And you can talk with the right soft all off for repeater and you don't get out about animal 1000 miles or more, depending where you are but accomplished ham radio operators and they will no about that but more than I do.

I'm good I'm smart and good at talking, but when it comes to learning out from books and remembering. Or, you know, listening to people lecture. It's very difficult for me to learn anything and I have a complex. That's why I haven't done that my license yet for ham radio among the other reasons is not a copout. It's is very frustrating. I don't think about it. Is it upsets me .

Anyhow, a CB radio was awesome and still very useful today, cheap and you can from what I hear you can send pictures with the CB radio using something called slow scan, but I could be wrong about that, but that's what I was told . a CB and a ham radio, your cell phone. All were pretty much the same way it in some ways anyway so don't don't count the CB radio a CB radios, short for citizens band radio. If you cant afford a cell phone or you are homeless. I handheld CB radio would be very useful to you, especially if it had a weather band, and in space. It channels nine and 19 in the United States will get you help very quick if you need it

I had worked red. You know of a to page him, you know, but a pamphlet they sent me from the American radio relay league. When I joined, but I didn't I deleted it because I think that you have to have permission to do you know to cold clouded or whatever so I am. I didn't. I don't know how I would go about getting permission to to read from the pamphlet to tell you all about ham radio and that'll and a RRL, but you know maybe somebody does, but with ham radio people people use all kinds of and modes of communication to talk anywhere. I'm pretty sure there's even people that and I know there's people using satellites to talk all over the world are locally hams use repeaters which are like a cell phone towers, you know, to booster signal and get it all farther on, you can use your ham radio to control model airplane or a drawing or run any number of other things and and and ham radio and computers work together and you talk all over with the world using them, and the next thing is that CB radio and ham radio or on the Internet now virtual ham radio virtual CB radio, and I'm surprised the company has been made that that boosts CCB radio signals somewhere in this world, they must do that, the same way they've they retransmit broadcast on ham radio signals and cell phone signals at all at that could be thorny but issue. You know, I don't know. Anyhow, ham radios is just totally awesome I love it and I don't even have a license and I don't know much about it, and I still love it so I will stop talking now and I hope I've got you all psyched out for a ham radio alert amateur radio as it's called in community service, and I hope you all know or will learn from this. As you Google that am. You know what you need to know to to have information to get help and stay safe. Using amateur radio and help your friends and family. Okay, that's all the safer now and I hope that am you all will be of the ad. Although bikes to this thread, I really do hope it takes off because I want to learn things, and I can't learn them at the blunt talk to me about them. Thank you. Maybe there's a bunch hours out there that are bored and have ratchet jaw and want to teach people teach and having these skills that Elmers can teach you to help you learn and that you will learn and practice is bit, you know, I using CB and a ham rado radio while in the hobby. You will learn marketable skills and skills that can really save your life. It emergency situation and they skills that you can barter if you know if if crap ever hit the fan and I were choosing who to play the bunker well. Having the skills you can learn and view related skills that you learned in the hat amateur radio hobby can be very useful in a quick meal, a tool you know to you know a leg up in the world and help pay the mortgage of you know, and I that was a ham radio operator and used it in the Army, where he learned more and in his in a professional life and personal life to you. Of course okay that's all I'm to talk about now with this, turn on my CB radio and kick back and relax and later, turn on the 10 meter receiver and listening to hams work together to get information out is very interesting, but I drink some coffee before you try to keep up with them because they talk real fast. A lot of times… Okay

Okay guys, you have the floor. Now, but before I stop. I am using that Dragon dictation program, so if there's any weird. You know typos here that I missed or it sounds like I'm saying something strange. Well, it did computer is still the program is still learning how how I talk and I have to sit down in the training program and train the software work better. But don't you know I hate structure: Stan sit in their soul. I have to go back and do it do so more okay, that being said, I look forward to your contributions and is soon as I can I will try to get this thing to help insert paragraphs for me so that people can read it
