Dear Members,

ADDING PICTURES, AUDIO, OR VIDEO TO YOUR POSTINGS

You can now place video files (up to 50 megabytes), audio files, and pictures into your community postings.

APPROPRIATE CONTENT FOR PICTURES

You can post any picture that would not offend other community members. Please don't post copyrighted pictures. Your posted pictures don't have to be directly relevant to our mental health focus. We welcome any picture that you feel is beautiful or inspirational. However, please don't make this website into your family photo album. Try to post pictures that are relevant to your typed comments, or pictures that beautifully convey your mood.

APPROPRIATE CONTENT FOR VIDEO OR AUDIO POSTINGS

We have different rules for video or audio postings. We ask that you only post video/audio files that are directly relevant to our mental health focus. We don't want to become another "YouTube.com" with thousands of totally irrelevant (or irreverent) videos. We will delete any video that shows disrespect for any person or group. You can help us delete offensive videos etc. by rating each posting (using the rating scale at the bottom on the posting).

COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL

We don't want to be sued over copyright issues, so please don't download videos or music (unless you created it). If you want members to see video at another site (like YouTube.com or Google video), simply link to that video (using the "Insert Hyperlink" button in our word processor).

Dear Doctor Long,

I gave your example a try, your spoken word, in conjunction with the animated cat delivering your 'speech', and was delighted with same. I am in awe of this fellowship, promoting as it does the for welfare of it's membership.

Thank you very much for all you, and your staff do, in providing as much as you are able, for this community!

Kindest Regards David Tomkinson

PS.,

I forgot to mention I have also down loaded the soft ware from Logitech, without any problems, enabling me to do much more than I was able to do in the past.

Again thank you for this innovation to 'My therapy'.

What are those pornography postings doing under the heading of "Adding Video/Audio/Images To Your Postings?" They are rated as Very Harmful by several people, including me. They are offensive. I thought that these kinds of postings were not allowed. The videos they "advertise" cannot possibly be anything to do with mental illness, except possibly sex addiction. Is anything being done about this?

I would like to know how to get a picture to show up with my name when I post, like other members. I uploaded a picture in "My Picture." I don't know how to get it to go with my name. Also, I tried to upload a picture to include in a post, but it came out way too huge. Do you know how I can reduce it to a reasonable size?

Hi am I allowed to help?

There are several picture options. If you're in your profile, you can upload a pic but it will be your profile picture. (What others see if they click on your name and get your profile)

If you want to have an avatar, did you try the menu in the left hand corner of every page? (You might have done this already but if not, read on... ) It is a gold coloured menu and has options like "my profile", "Active topics" "my picture" etc.. Select "My Picture" from this gold menu and then hit browse to find your pic.

Then when you select it, just hit post my new image.

Once you do this, just refresh the page and you SHOULD see an avatar beneath your name.

PS I am not sure right away how you would resize an image here. Do you have a program like Microsoft office picture manager? If so, find the image on your computer (in your pics folder, etc) and right click on it, then choose "open with..." and select "microsoft office picture manager". This will open a new window. (Sorry it's long. i'm doing it as I explain it to make sure it makes sense. but it's really easy)

Ok now you're in Microsoft office picture mgr? At the top, look for the bar that says "Edit Pictures..." When you click on this, a menu will come up on the right that has editing tools, etc.. Choose "Picture resize" and a new menu will appear where the old one was. You have choices here. Select "predefined width x height" and then choose the size you want from a menu. "Web small 448 x 336" or "Web large 640 x 480" are often good for posting in message boards, I think. There are smaller and larger options too.

Sorry that was so long and detailed. I hope it helps.

love.. pea
