Apparently I have it....
I do things and expect a certain outcome
Eg if I turn my kettle off before it boils something good will happen,
I move my hands, arms and legs to touch something equally which will stop something bad happening.
I've I've touched that coffee table with left leg must repeat with right leg then back again or my horse will get ill...
Since lately I've been calling my own bluff (!)
If I turn the kettle off before it boils this good thing will happen and if I don't turn the kettle off until it boils this good thing will also happen..
It's almost abit like gambling but I'm trying to turn it into a win win, lol, am I making any sense
Love jet
Xx

Hi Sarah

OCD takes many forms
but all have a uniformity
in that evolve around repeated actions
which over time can prove quite disabling
to the individual performing such rituals.

I wish you well in combating same...
providing that is your ultimate aim!

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch,
a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment,
or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

Welcome back Xibbling....
My daughter has tricotillomania...she becomes quite bald in patches and is only 22...it breaks my heart.
Good luck Xibbling.

One day at a time.

I have not been diagnosed OCD
medically speaking, however
if I have traits of same...

It must be due to my copious postings
... within My Therapy...
of which I have no problem...

Only gratitude, for my sustainability here! lol

Well Jet...I see you haven't been around (on this thread) since December of last year (or ever - since you posted it). It seems to be the predominant theme of topics on page one this morning...how odd...ah well...no matter.

We're all a bit OCD but yeah...you are there. I know society thinks most mental illness (including OCD) is controllable. That is, we can merely "will it" away. You and I know better. I believe we can have an impact on our impulses and subconscious behavior but it's not that simple. I like your "Bluff" method (lately I've been calling my own bluff]. Good tactic.

Take care, Keith

Ello ya all!
I've not been here much lately as brain has gone blank n I can't think what to say....
I'm ok just blank, also having one of those, argh what am I spose to do with this, life, crisis perhaps a bit early, although I am 39 today!
It's different from the despairing depths of bad depression when I wonder why, it just feels like a general confusement ( is that a word?)
I've had to sell my horse as I was just not capable of looking after him to the standard I'm happy with.
What happens next, feels like a game of chess n it's my move.
But I haven't got a clue where I'm going!
Love to u all
Sarah, jet

Happy 39 fellow Pisces. Me being 72, I can tell you from my lofty viewpoint....you are not any kind of old. I'm sorry things aren't going well for you but, as you say..."I'm OK". During our sign (2/20 - 3/21), we can see deeply within ourselves. When Aries arrives at the doorway to Spring...we act on what we've learned.

Good Luck, Keith
