Dear Members,
I would like to start a discussion about income inequality. Oxfam reported that the world's richest 62 people own as much as the poorest half of the earth's population. Question: why should so few, own so much? Why should the wealth of the richest 62 people on earth be as much as the combined wealth of 3.5 billion humans? In America, 99% of all the income growth in the past decade has gone to the top 1% of American income earners. What about the other 99% of Americans? Their incomes have actually shrunk. So why does this 99% tolerate such income inequality? Why should an American CEO earn 300 times as much as his average employee? Are we, the 99%, now the wage slaves of our new economic masters? Why do we tolerate this new subtle form of slavery? Let's talk about this. |

In 2012, Apple Avoided Paying $9 Billion In Taxes It Should Have Paid
Apple Has Made Tax Evasion History
This is another subsidy the American taxpayers give to large corporations. Every billion these mega corporations avoid paying in taxes, is a billion more that the taxpayers' must pay in taxes.

Apple Didn't Pay $9 Billion in 2012 Taxes: How Big Is That?
Consider The Cost Of Feeding And Housing 10 Million Iraqi Refugees
This week, the government of Iraq asked the UN for $861 million. This would be less than half of its $1.56 billion plan to assist 10 million Iraqis in need.
Without this $1.56 billion, 10 million Iraqis may die.
Now compare this sum to the $9 billion per year that Apple avoids paying in taxes.
This illustrates the massive scale of tax evasion that exists in corporate America. Yes, these mega corporations are fabulously rich, but much of this accumulated wealth is due to tax evasion.

I went to the best schools. Therefore, I visited some of my classmates in their four million dollar houses.
Phil, from where I compute, you have a lot more money than I have. Is this envy I feel?
There are folks who want to take what I have. Well, right that's what we're talking about: there are rich folks who want to take what I have, and there are poor folks who want to take what I have. Weren't we just seeing that honesty is more at home in the poor than in the rich, however?
Lot of poor people out there!

Hi Jayster,I agree that, financially, you are caught in the middle. Let's explore this issue, and see what can be done. Phil Long MD Administrator |

Gold Is A Hedge Against Currency Devaluation
In Canadian Dollars, Gold Price Has Increased By 160.4% In The Past 10 Years
In the last 2 years, the Canadian dollar has gone from:
- Canadian$ 1 = US$ 1
- Canadian$ 1 = US$ 0.74
In the past 2 years, the Canadian dollar suffered a 26% devaluation.
That means that, compared to the purchasing power of American workers, Canadian workers have taken an involuntary 26% roll-back in their wages over the past 2 years due to this currency devaluation.
This Canadian dollar devaluation caused an increase in the price of gold. Thus, gold was a good hedge against the devaluation of the Canadian dollar.

60% of the Discretionary US Federal Budget Goes To The Military Instead of Free University Education and Health Care - USA Funds Endless War
The fabulously rich US industrial-military complex is well-supported by the US government; whereas free health care and free university education are not. Many European nations now offer free university education (e.g., Scandinavian nations, Slovenia). Most European nations also offer free health care (funded out of taxes). Instead of free education and health care, America finances endless war and thus endless financial support for its multi-billionaire war profiteers.
