The Official Unemployment Rate Is 5%, But That Is A Fraud
The US government in 1994 changed how the official unemployment rate was calculated - so that it would appear to be lower.
What the government did was to no longer count members of the work force who were unemployed for longer than 12 months. This made these long-term unemployed simply disappear from all statistical analysis.
This new way of calculating the official unemployment rate dramatically dropped the unemployment rate - which made the politicians very happy.
At www.shadowstats.com, they calculate the US unemployment rate the same way as it was calculated by the US government in 1990. Using the "old" way that the US government calculated the unemployment rate, the current US unemployment rate is 23% - the same rate as it was during the Great Depression.
Look around you at all the unemployed in America. Who should you believe: the government telling us that the US economy is now at almost full employment, or www.shadowstats.com telling us that unemployment is now at Great Depression levels?
When the American media repeats these fraudulent unemployment figures, are they knowingly part of this deception?

Car loans and house mortgages are now at pre-2008 levels because the banks are again lending huge sums to "subprime borrowers" - people with terrible credit ratings that can't pay back their loans.
Lending to subprime borrowers was the main reason for the 2008 financial meltdown - and now the banks are doing this mistake again. Is there no end to the banks' greed and stupidity?
It is therefore very misleading when the American media cheerfully reports that auto loans and house mortgage sales are now back to pre-2008 levels. This media never reports that this is largely due to lending to subprime borrowers. That would spoil the propaganda.
330 Million People In Western India Are About To Starve To Death
But Our Western Mass Media Isn't Mentioning It
Three hundred and thirty million Indians in western India are about to starve to death if rain doesn't come in the next 2 weeks to end their severe drought. That's more people than the entire population of the United States.
A major city in western India reports that its water supply will run dry on June 12th.
The Indian government is trying to bring train loads of water to the drought victims, but it will be impossible to bring enough water to save 330 million people if the Monsoon rains don't come this month.
The eastern half of India is getting enough rain, but the western half of India has suffered severe drought for the past 3 years.
Why Isn't This Story Being Covered By Our Western Mass Media?
If more people than the entire population of America are about to starve to death; you would expect that this colossal crisis would be headline news across all of our western mass media.
But that's not going to happen.
Large oil corporations have ensured that there is a total news blackout on any story that would suggest that burning fossil fuels is causing climate change and the current global drought.
So India may be on the verge of a famine of Biblical portions, but it won't be covered by our press.
