Dear Members,
You can now record the daily changes in your mood using our new "mood calendar". To access this new feature, click on the gold button titled "My Mood Calendar" on the left side of this screen.
We must thank JodyWoo (http://www.mytherapy.com/discussion/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5413) for the idea behind our new "mood calendar".
As an additional feature, this "mood calendar" will put a colored border around your Avatar when you post. The color of this border will correspond to your mood color in your "mood calendar".
Try it; its fun and extremely informative.

Dr Long, it's so awesome that you got that up and running... I actually have a mood suggestion.
I noticed a lot of the members tend to say they are bored... especially me.
Could that be considered a mood?
Jody the 15 year old from Tucson, AZ "Never regret something that once made you smile!"
Dear Jody,You are right. When I got back from Hawaii and asked our staff to try out this mood calendar, most wanted to endorse a mood that was in between "sad" and "happy". This caused us to change the names of a number of the mood pictures: * "Manic" has become "very excited or elated" * "Hypomanic" has become "excited or elated" * "Happy" has become "normal mood" (which can be anything in between "sad" and "excited or elated"). Thus boredom would now qualify as "normal mood". We have added a new picture, "psychosis". Some psychotic individuals can correctly identify when they are delusional or hallucinating. Thus, for them, having a "psychotic" picture to endorse on their calendar would be helpful. We welcome your suggestions on further improvements to this mood calendar idea. Mark and I are having a lot of fun with its development. Thanks again Jody for all your help. Phil Long M.D. Administrator |

I noticed that if you forget a day (or two.. or three..) it just keeps the last mood you posted and strings it along the days you miss.
So my calendar is sometimes not totally accurate because when i see this happen, i try to fill in the gaps if i have missed days. Makes me look very moody.

Hi e-pea,We designed the mood calendar to automatically repeat your last mood rating. We thought, that way members only had to indicate when their mood changed. Otherwise their mood chart would automatically remain the same. This may not be a good feature if members forget to record their mood changes. In that case, the computer would "paper over" those undocumented mood changes. What do you think about this automatic feature e-pea? Phil Long M.D. Administrator |

well this is just it i forget constantly. So it may not be completely accurate since i don't always look back and remember what moods fell on what day...
I have no complaints at all to be honest. I just wanted to know if that was just me or......
I find that there is no mood for "meh" I figure "well" does just fine. sometimes i do not feel well but no specific distress or negativity, and not exactly apathy.
I think I might have some moods that don't really have words that accurately describe them which is expected. Or at least I don't know what they are.
I like this feature. I can see my daily moods in a linear way which is really good. I can judge more ... globally (?) how I am feeling. I just have to be more diligent about recording them each day so it is accurate.

Dr Long, this mood calendar is fantastic. It's gone incredibly far very quickly and I've very happy with the results... imagine, an idea for something like that just from me posting a collage of pictures. That's incredible!

I just realized an easier way to access your Mood Calendar. Simply click on the "How is your mood today" that's underneath your login name up top.
