Being possessed by an abiding interest in history and politics, I know that hunmans have long displayed violence and warlike qualities. It makes my heart, mind, soul, and body sick with grief and anger. How many of us are made ill by the very condition of the world, by how little we seem to be able to change things, by the seeming hopelessness of ever electing compassionate and effective leaders, of saving our world???? I do what I can by working within a church and my local political group, but this is the topic that worries me most. How can a person cope with the reality of today?
