Parts of North America Skipped Winter This Year
Here Comes A Killer Drought To California
Everyone should read the above article. It states what many climate scientists fear the most - that we may have already past the point of no return in which global warming has now become irreversible.
If you live in drought-stricken California; you are about to experience the collapse in agriculture that caused the Syrian refugee crisis (and civil war).
Hopefully fellow Americans will offer drought-fleeing Californian refugees more compassion than they offered to the Syrian refugees.

America Has Wasted $5 Trillion Losing A War In Iraq
Now US Militarists Want To Expand This War Into Syria
These unwinnable wars are an expensive waste of time and resources.
All the American invasion of Iraq has accomplished is to start a civil war which has split Iraq into three. Iran has moved its army into southern Iraq, Saudi Arabia has funded ISIS which has taken over the middle of Iraq, and the American-backed Kurds have taken over northern Iraq.
These endless wars over oil have completely distracted America from addressing the biggest threat to global survival - global warming and drought.
To survive, what we must immediately decrease the use of fossil fuels before global overheating destroys our world.
There is no military solution to climate change. Yet our governments prefer to fight endless wars instead of uniting to decrease greenhouse gases.
Maybe our species is too warlike, and too stupid to survive. I think we are about to find out.

We Could Be Way Past The Point of No Return
The Average Temperature In February In Canada Was 2 Degrees Celsius Above Normal
In many parts of eastern Canada (e.g., Ontario), the temperature today is 14 degrees C. above normal.
The climate scientists got their predictions wrong. They said it wouldn't be until 2030 before the average global temperature increases by 2 degrees C.
However, the average temperature in Canada in February has already increased by 2 degrees C. In fact, every month in Canada is steadily getting hotter than normal.
What is the significance of a 2 degree C. increase in average global temperature?
That is the point when scientists predict global warming becomes irreversible, but we have already passed that point this winter in the northern hemisphere. So What Should We Expect This Year?
If India, Pakistan and China experience the same temperature increase as Canada has (i.e., 2 degrees C. above normal); it will signal that drought is coming.
Drought has destroyed agriculture in much of the Middle East, Northern Africa, Eastern Africa, and Sub-Sahara Africa. People there are desperately trying to flee their dying countries. Look at how bad the resulting refugee crisis has been.
Now try to image the number of refugees that would be caused by a prolonged drought in India, Pakistan and China.
The world's population is 7.4 billion. China's population is 1.4 billion; India's population is 1.3 billion; Pakistan's population is 193 million. So, all together, China + India + Pakistan have a total population of 2.9 billion (or 40% of the world's population).
When global warming soon causes drought in Asia, how will the world cope with the resulting refugee crisis as Asians try to flee starvation?
How do you relocate 40% of the world's population? China, India and Pakistan all have nuclear weapons. So they will not sit by idly as their population starves to death.
The current refugee crisis is just a warning about what soon will come.
Humans were too stupid to deal with global warming when it was reversible - so do you really think we are smart enough to deal with global warming now that it is irreversible?
I think we all just flunked Nature's most important intelligence test. Tragically, There Are Things That Could Save Humanity - But You Won't Like Them
Anything that cut the global population in half, would dramatically decrease the use of fossil fuels, and might just stop further global warming.
We are not smart enough to use birth control to decrease the global population by half. So it looks like, to reduce the global population by half, we would have to rely on famine, epidemic, or war.
Global famine would slowly do it, but - given our stupidity - my bet is on another world war.
Voting for Trump may be our best bet for world war and a massive decrease in world population. Unfortunately, this means you and I will be eliminated, but some small fragment of humanity may survive.

Central and Eastern Canada Are Still 14-15 Degrees C. Above Normal
What is going on here? This is way too hot for a Canadian winter.
This is as good an example of climate change as you can get.
If this means our summer is going to be much hotter; expect massive, uncontrollable forest fires on the west coast of North America. California will probably be the hardest hit by these forest fires.
I hope fire doesn't destroy California's giant, thousand year-old red wood forests.
The gigantic forests of the west coast of North America are the lungs (along with the Amazon rain forest) of our planet. These forests capture carbon dioxide from the air, and store it as wood. In addition, these forests produce oxygen.
If we lose these North American forests, we lose much of our capacity to biologically store carbon dioxide. This will result in even faster global warming.
Climate-wise, we are sleep-walking towards disaster.

I'm in Florida at present. The weather is lovely.
As we drove across Florida we saw lots of cattle farms and orange groves.
I'm staying with a sibling whom I have hardly seen since my father died 14 years ago.
My siblings tend to be too paranoid to write on the www or talk on the phone. But here I am!

Winter Rains Didn't Help The Drought In Southern California
California's economy is the eighth largest economy in the world - larger than Russia and Italy.
So what will happen to the world economy when California runs out of water?
California has officially been declared in a drought since 2014. Now southern California's ground water is almost used up, and it would take years or decades of normal rainfall to replenish this ground water.
The water reservoirs in southern California are all less than half-full. Soon farming in southern California may be severely impacted by this chronic drought.
This is exactly what is happening across the world with this spreading global drought. Meanwhile, Donald Trump denies that there is climate change, and never mentions drought.
